Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). When she was a kid, she went to the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma chose to be an actor when she was six. For several years she was enrolled in the Oxford branch Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. In the school, she was taught singing, dancing and acting. In a school play and a Stagecoach production, Emma took the lead at the age 10 and performed. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 adaption to J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was found by agents through their Oxford teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been selected for the roles. The cast included Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first appearance in a film was as a part of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. The movie set records on the opening weekend and sales, and it was the top-grossing 2001 film. Reviewers were awed by the film and its performance. The widely distributed British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performance admirable. Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the leading young actress in a feature Film. The actress was nominated five times for her performance in the movie.
